My dads neighbour is in the middle of moving house and was going to bin a load of split cane rods but gave them to my dad to us to use instead. Now the other day he found this hardy rod and dropped it in. The date mark on the serial number seems to point to it being a 1943 model but the bags brand new and also it has shrink wrap on the handle so im guessing its had a rebuild and refinish at hardy at some point. Now all i can make out in the writing is the words 'dry fly' and what looks like a message but no length or line weight. Has anyone seen anything like this before ? Going to give hardys a shout tomorrow with pics and the serial number etc to see what they come up with but curiositys getting the better of me tonight, so any ideas chaps ?
